    Effect of Tongxinluo on three-dimensional strain of atherosclerotic vulnerable plaque in rabbits

    Objective To investigate the effect and possible mechanism of Tongxinluo(TXL)and simvastatin on the three-dimensional strain of atherosclerotic vulnerable plaques. Methods After abdominal aortic balloon injury was induced, 50 male New Zealand rabbits were fed with 1% cholesterol diet for 10 weeks and then randomly assigned into 5 groups for 8-week ordinary treatment: control, low-dose TXL group [0.15 g/(kg·d)], moderate-dose TXL group [0.3 g/(kg·d)], high-dose TXL group [0.6 g/(kg·d)], and simvastatin group [5 mg/(kg·d)]. Results With the treatment of TXL and simvastatin, CSp and RSp of plaques decreased, whereas LSp increased. Plaque area and burden reduced. Moderate and high dose of TXL and simvastatin intervention could reduce the number of macrophages, vulnerable index and the expressions of matrix metalloproteinase 2(MMP-2)and MMP-9 in plaques. Conclusion TXL and simvastatin modify the three-dimensional strain and enhance the stability of atherosclerotic vulnerable plaques by inhibiting the content of macrophages and expressions of MMP-2 and MMP-9. The plaque-stabilizing effect might be detected by noninvasive three-dimensional strain measurement.
    Effects of GCH1 on atrial autonomic nerve remodeling by regulating tetrahydrobiopterin in A-TP canines

    Objective To investigate the expression of guanosine triphosphate cyclohydrolase I(GCH1)on atrial autonomic nerve remodeling(ANR)in atrial-tachypacing(A-TP)canines. Methods A total of 24 mongrel dogs were randomly divided into 4 groups: atrial tachypacing group(A-TP), control group, GCH1 over-expression group and lenti-anti-GCH1 group. Each group had 6 dogs. Canines in the A-TP group had continuous right A-TP(400 beats/min)for 4 weeks, and then atrial tissue samples were harvested from right superior fat pad(RSFP). Canines in the GCH1 over-expression group were injected with lenti-GCH1 into RSFPs. Canines in the lenti-anti-GCH1 group were injected with lenti-anti-GCH1 into RSFPs. After 2 weeks, canines were anesthetized and atrial samples were collected. The mRNA expression was detected with qRT-PCR, the protein expression was detected with Western blotting, nerve density was evaluated with immunohistochemical staining, and Tetrahydrobiopterin(BH4)content was determined with Elisa analysis. Results GCH1 expression in the A-TP group was obviously lower than that in the control group(P<0.05). Compared with the control group, GCH1 over-expression group had longer atrial effective refractory period, decreased PGP9.5 expression, but increased BH4 content. Compared with the control group, the lenti-anti-GCH1 group had increased PGP9.5 expression and decreased BH4 content. Conclusion Rapid pacing of right atrium can lead to downregulation of GCHI. GCH1 may inhibit ANR during atrial fibrillation by regulating BH4 content.
    Pioglitazone ameliorates cardiac fibrosis induced by hypertension via regulating Sirt3

    Objective To investigate the effect of pioglitazone on cardiac fibrosis induced by hypertension and the possible mechanism. Methods Cardiac fibroblasts were extracted from newly-born SD rats and divided into 6 groups: negative control group, angiotension II(ANGII 1 μmol/L)group, pioglitazone(Piog 10 μmol/L)group, Piog+ANGII group, Sirt3.siRNA+ANGII group, and Sirt3.siRNA+Piog+ANGII group. The protein expressions of a-SMA, Sirt3, COL I and β-catenin were detected with Western blotting. The mRNA expressions of a-SMA, Sirt3, COL I and β-catenin were detected with quantitative real time PCR. The expression of COL I was evaluated with immuofluorescence staining. Results Compared with the negative control group, the ANGII group showed increased mRNA and protein expressions of a-SMA, COL I and β-catenin, decreased expression of Sirt3, enhanced green fluorescence of COL I, and severer cardiac fibrosis(all P<0.05). Compared with the Piog+ANGII group, the Sirt3.siRNA+Piog+ANGII group showed increased mRNA and protein levels of a-SMA, COL I and β-catenin, decreased levels of Sirt3, and higher green fluorescence intensity of COL I(all P<0.05). However, there were no significant differences in the mRNA and protein expressions between Piog and Piog+ANGII groups(P>0.05), and between Sirt3.siRNA+ANGII and Sirt3. siRNA+Piog+ANGII groups(P>0.05). Conclusion Pioglitazone can improve cardiac fibrosis induced by hypertension via activation of Sirt3 and inhibition of β-catenin.

    Objective To investigate the effects of gemigliptin on the therapeutic effect and inflammatory factors of monocrotaline(MCT)-induced pulmonary arterial hypertension(PAH)in rats. Methods A total of 40 Male SD rats were randomly divided into 3 groups: control group, MCT group and gemigliptin group. The pulmonary hypertension models were established by subcutaneous injection of MCT(60 mg/kg), and rats in the intervention group were treated with gemigliptin[150 mg/(kg·d)] gavage for 28 days. After that, mean pulmonary artery pressure(mRVP), pulmonary arterial systolic pressure(RVSP), and right ventricular hypertrophy index(RVHI)were measured. The pulmonary vascular remodeling was assessed with HE staining. IL-1β and IL-6 were measured with ELISA. Results The mPAP, RVSP, RVHI and remodeling of the small arteries of the MCT group were significantly improved compared with those of the control group(P<0.001), and those of the gemigliptin group were significantly improved compared with those of the MCT group(P<0.001). The IL-6 level of MCT group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P=0.039), while it was lower of the gemigliptin group than of the MCT group(P=0.005).     Layer-by-layer assembly delivered VEGF enhances biocompatibility of decellularized scaffolds

    Objective Heparin/chitosan layer-by-layer(LBL)assembly delivered vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)on decellularized scaffolds(DS)was designed for better biocompatibility. Methods LBL was crosslinked by 1-ethyl-(3- dimethylamino propyl)carbonyl diimine(EDC), and VEGF was delivered on decellularized bovine jugular vein to produce different scaffolds. The microstructure surface of different scaffolds was observed with scanning electron microscopy(SEM). The release performance of heparin and VEGF was determined with elution test. The blood compatibility was tested with anticoagulant activity and platelet adhesion test. The endothelialization on scaffolds was analyzed with cell proliferation. Results Heparin/chitosan multilayer films formed the surface coating by nanoparticles. EDC improved the stability of multilayer films. Conclusion Heparin/chitosan layer-by-layer technology delivered VEGF can improve biocompatibility and accelerate endothelialization on decellularized scaffolds.
    Effects of salinomycin combined with cisplatin on the proliferation and apoptosis of human gastric cancer cell line MKN-45

    Objective To investigate the effects and mechanisms of salinomycin(Sal)combined with cisplatin on the proliferation and apoptosis of human gastric cancer cell line MKN-45. Methods MKN-45 cells were cultured in vitro to logarithmic growth phase, and the proliferation rate of cell line MKN-45 preprocessed separately and jointly by Sal and cisplatin was detected with methyl thiazolyltetrazolium(MTT)method. The apoptosis were examined by AO/EB apoptosis kit and the protein expression levels of NF-κB and caspase-3 were detected with Western blotting. Results MTT assay indicated that the apoptosis rate of MKN-45 cells treated by the combination by Sal and cisplatin was obviously more than that by Sal and cisplatin used separately(P<0.05). AO/EB showed that administration of Sal and cisplatin respectively the apoptotic morphology was obvious compared with that of the control group, and the combined effect of the two drugs was more significant.     TIPE3 decreases breast cancer cell sensitivity to adriamycin by upregulating P-gp protein expression

    Objective To investigate the mechanisms of tumor necrosis factor-α induced protein 8 like 3(TIPE3), a recently investigated oncogenic transfer protein, on modulating breast cancer cell MCF-7 sensitivity to adriamycin. Methods TIPE3-overexpressed MCF-7 cells were treated with 0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5 μg/mL adriamycin. After that, the relative viability and cell cycle of MCF-7 cells were detected with CCK-8 method and flow cytometry; the apoptosis of MCF-7 cells was assessed with Annexin V/PI; expression of MDR 1/P-gp and activation of NF-κB signal pathway were detected with qRT-PCR and Western blotting. Results Overexpressed TIPE3 promoted MCF-7 cell proliferation, increased the number of G2/M cells and inhibited apoptosis. Furthermore, overexpressed TIPE3 protein upregulated the activation of NF-κB signal pathway and the expression of MDR1/P-gp. Conclusion TIPE3 decreased MCF-7 cells sensitivity to adriamycin by upregulating the expression of P-gp via NF-κB pathway.
    Uniaxial-channel collagen scaffolds loaded with CBD-BDNF improves the recovery of rat spinal cord injury

    Objective To explore the efficacy of uniaxial guidance collagen scaffolds loaded with collagen binding domain-brain derived neurotrophic factor(CBD-BDNF)in the repair of rat spinal cord injury(SCI). Methods Rat hemisection SCI models were established and divided into 3 groups: control group, collagen group, and CBD-BDNF/collagen(CBC)group. Nerve fiber immunofluorescence staining, BBB score, and inclined plate test were adopted to evaluate the repair efficacy. Results Axons grew through collagen scaffolds in linear fashion in vitro. In animal experiments, CBC group displayed more regenerated neurofilament with linear direction than the other two groups(P<0.05). Nine weeks after implantation, the BBB score of CBC group reached 8(7, 13), significantly higher than the control group[1(1, 1)] and collagen group[2(1, 2)],(P<0.05). Inclined plane results also showed significant improvement of functional recovery after SCI in CBC group than the other two groups(P<0.05).     Correlation between TWEAK and cardiac remodeling in essential hypertensive patients

    Objective To investigate the association between tumor necrosis factor-like weak inducer of apoptosis(TWEAK)and cardiac remodeling in essential hypertensive patients. Methods A total of 88 hypertensive patients enrolled as the hypertension group were divided into two subgroups according to the serum level of soluble TWEAK(sTWEAK): high sTWEAK group(n=51)and low sTWEAK group(n=37). Another 20 healthy subjects served as the control group. The mRNA expression of TWEAK in peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMCs)was detected using real-time PCR(RT-PCR). sTWEAK and matrix metalloproteinase 1(sMMP-1)were measured with enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA). The left atrium diameter(LAD), left atrial volume(LAV), left atrial volume index(LAVI), early wave of mitral flow(E), atrial wave of mitral flow(A), ratio of mitral flow early wave to atrial wave(E/A), and ratio of mitral flow early wave to mitral annular early diastolic velocity(E/E')of mitral valve ring were measured with echocardiography. LAVI and E/E' were greater in the hypertension group than in the control group(P<0.05), and were significantly greater in the high sTWEAK group than in the low sTWEAK group(P<0.01). Furthermore, the sTWEAK and TWEAK mRNA showed a significant positive correlation with sMMP-1, LAVI and E/E'(P<0.01). Conclusion Cardiac remodeling in essential hypertensive patients might be correlated with up-regulated TWEAK.
    Evaluation of the effects of high blood pressure on white matter lesion in young adults using diffusion tensor imaging

    Objective To explore subtle white matter lesions in young hypertensive adults using magnetic resonance diffusion tensor imaging(DTI). Methods Routine brain MRI and DTI sequences were performed in participants with hypertension(n=45, hypertension group)and controls with normal blood pressure (n=45, control group). Fractional anisotropy(FA)values of centrum ovale, cerebral peduncle, corona radiata, genu of corpus callosum, splenium of corpus callosum, corpus callosum body, anterior limb of internal capsule, posterior limb of internal capsule, bilateral frontal lobe, parietal lobe, temporal lobe and occipital lobe were measured. Results Compared with the control group, the hypertension group had significantly decreased FA values in the cerebral peduncle and frontal lobe(P<0.001). FA values in the cerebral peduncle and frontal lobe were negatively correlated with systolic blood pressure(r=-0.625, r=-0.665, P<0.001; r=-0.417, r=-0.495, P<0.05). FA values of the other regions of the white matter were not correlated with either systolic pressure or diastolic pressure(P>0.05). Conclusion The microstructural white matter in young adults with hypertension may be selectively impaired, indicating the need for early and optimum control of blood pressure.
    Treatment of 68 cases of moderate volume of hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage with free hand technique of minimally invasive puncture of the soft channel under CT orientation

    Objective To explore the efficacy of mini-invasive surgical treatment of moderate volume of hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage. Methods The clinical data of 158 cases of hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage(20- 40 mL)treated during Nov. 2011 and June 2015 were retrospectively analyzed. Of all patients, 68 underwent minimally invasive surgery(mini-invasive group), and 90 received non-surgical treatment(non-surgical group). The patients were followed up for 1 month. The mortality, hematoma evacuation time, and score of National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale were compared between the 2 groups. Results The mortality was 2.90% in the mini-invasive group, and 16.88% in the non-surgical group, with significant difference between the 2 groups(P<0.05). The hematoma evacuation time was 5±2.1 days in the mini-invasive group, and 21±3.5 days in the non-surgical group, with significant difference between the 2 groups(P<0.05). One month after treatment, the NIHSS score in the mini-invasive group was significantly lower than that in the non-surgical group (P<0.01). Conclusion Mini-invasive surgical treatment of moderate volume of hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage is reliable, with short hematoma evacuation time and low mortality.
    Trend survey of inpatient use of drugs for acute myocardial infarction during 10 years in a hospital of Nanyang City

    Objective To analyze the trend of drug use for inpatients with acute myocardial infarction(AMI)from 2001 to 2011, in order to provide reference for the rational use of drugs. Methods The medical records of inpatients in the year 2001, 2006 and 2011 were reviewed. The uses of aspirin, clopidogrel, stain, β blocker and angiotensin-converting-enzyme inhibitors(ACEI)/angiotensin receptor blockers(ARB)were assessed. Results A total of 234 cases were enrolled. There were significant increases in the use of aspirin(80.0%, 86.0%, 94.8%, P=0.013), clopidogrel(0%, 50.9%, 87.8%, P<0.001), and stain(34.0%, 81.8%, 95.6 %, P<0.001)in 2001, 2006 and 2011. The utilization rates of β blocker(51.1%, 64.7%, 56.4%, P=0.401)and ACEI/ARB(62.5%, 72.2%, 60.9%, P=0.262)were still relatively low, with no statistical difference in the past decade. Conclusion During the past decade, the uses of aspirin, clopidogrel and stain are significantly increased in Nanyang Central Hospital, but there is still gap between clinical practice and guideline in the uses of β blocker and ACEI/ARB.
    Serum lipids and lipoproteins in middle-aged and elderly Chinese in Shandong Province

    Objective To explore the relationship between age, gender, BMI, blood pressure, status of glucose metabolism and serum lipids and lipoproteins among the middle-aged and elderly Chinese men and women in Shandong Province. Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted in Shandong Province among 10,028 adults aged ≥40 years. Demographic data were collected and oral glucose tolerance test was performed. Fasting serum total(Cho), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)and triglycerides(TG)were measured by standard methods. Results The estimates of serum Cho, LDL-C, HDL-C and TG were(5.35±1.05)mmol/L,(3.18±0.86)mmol/L,(1.51±0.38)mmol/L and 1.34 mmol/L, respectively. The estimates of serum Cho, LDL-C, HDL-C and TG in female were higher than those in male, and differences in Cho, LDL-C and HDL-C were statistically significant(P<0.001). The levels of serum Cho, LDL-C and TG increased(P=0.005, P=0.012, P=0.043), while the level of serum HDL-C decreased(P=0.002)with the elevation of blood pressure. The levels of 山 东 大 学 学 报 (医 学 版)55卷5期 -王美建,等.山东省城市中老年人群血脂现状调查 \=-serum Cho, LDL-C and TG increased(P=0.013, P=0.023, P=0.007), while the level of serum HDL-C decreased with the increase of BMI(P=0.010). The levels of serum Cho, LDL-C between normal glucose tolerance population, pre-diabetes [impaired fasting glucose(IFG), impaired glucose tolerance(IGT)and IFG accompany with IGT] population and diabetic population increased first and then decreased(P<0.001), the level of serum HDL-C decreased gradually(P=0.007), and the level of TG increased gradually(P<0.001). Up to 36.92% and 19.10% adults had borderline high total cho(5.18-6.21 mmol/L)and high total cho(≥6.22 mmol/L); 25.24% and 13.39% population had borderline high(3.37-4.13 mmol/L)and high(≥4.14 mmol/L)HDL-C; 16.70% and 17.47% of the population had borderline high(1.70-2.25 mmol/L)and high(≥2.26 mmol/L)TG; 5.64% had low HDL-C(≤1.04 mmol/L). Conclusion Serum total and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels are high in the population aged ≥40 years in Shandong Province. Age, gender, BMI, blood pressure and status of glucose metabolism can affect serum lipids and lipoproteins. Without effective prevention and intervention, incidence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases will keep growing in the future.

    Objective To explore the correlation among serum uric acid(SUA), infection of helicobacter pylori (Hp)and metabolic syndrome(MS)in order to provide epidemiological evidences to reduce incidence of MS. Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted on 8 541 patients who met the inclusion standard, including 5 117 male and 3 424 female, aged 20~80(average 47.99±11.95)years. C-13 breath test-Hp and fasting blood biochemical examinations were conducted. According to age, the patients were divided into 3 groups: youth group(≤ 44 years), middle-aged group(45-59 years)and elderly group(≥ 60 years). According to the level of SUA, the patients were divided into SUA group and hyperuricemia(HUA)group. According to Hp status, the patients were divided into Hp+ and Hp- groups. According to the combination of SUA and HUA, the patients were divided into Hp- SUA, Hp+ SUA, Hp- HUA, and Hp+ HUA groups. The relationship between SUA, Hp infection and MS was analyzed with odds ratio and chi-square test. Results In the MS group, the male and female incidence rate was 22.1% and 9.0%, respectively, with statistical difference(P<0.05). The body mass index(BMI), systolic pressure(SBP), diastolic pressure(DBP), fasting blood glucose(FBG), triglyceride(TG)and Hp+ of MS group were higher than those of non-MS group(P<0.05), while high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)was lower than that of non-MS(P<0.001). Sex, age and Hp infection were related to HUA and MS, but not to MS(P<0.05). In both male and female groups, Hp infection was not related to MS; HUA and HUA complicated with Hp infection increased the incidence of MS(P<0.05). Hp infection increased the incidence of MS in the elderly group(P<0.05); HUA and HUA complicated with Hp infection increased the incidence of MS in all age groups(P<0.05). Conclusion Gender and age are closely related to MS; HUA and Hp infection are risk factors of MS.

    Objective To compare the clinical effects of body mass index(BMI)on ovulation induction treatment with letrozole among women with polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS). Methods A total of 153 infertile PCOS women treated during Jan. 2014 and Dec. 2015 were enrolled. These women were divided into obese group(n=71)and non-obese group(n=82)according to their BMI. The stimulation was initiated by letrozole at a dose of 5mg daily for 5 days, beginning from day 2 to day 4 of the menstrual cycle. The ovulation induction outcomes of the two groups were compared. Results The obese group had significantly higher serum glucose, insulin, triglyceride, high density lipoprotein(HDL), and total cholesterol level than the non-obese group(P=0.020, <0.001, =0.002, <0.001, =0.028). On the day when human chorionic gonadotropin(HCG)was administered, estradiol(E2)was statistically lower in the obese group than in the non-obese group(P=0.026). There were no differences in the number of dominant follicles, ovulation rate, luteinizing hormone(LH)level on the HCG day, progesterone level, pregnancy rate, miscarriage rate and live birth rate between the two groups(P>0.05). Conclusion Letrozole is an effective ovulation induction agent for infertile PCOS women with different MBI by improving the ovulation and pregnancy rate.

    Objective To detect the expression levels of miR-17-92 cluster(miR-17, miR-18a, miR-19a, miR-19b, miR-20a and miR-92a)in the serum from patients with cervical cancer(CC)and cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN), and to evaluate their clinical significance in the early diagnosis of human papillomavirus(HPV)positive cervical cancer. Methods Serum samples were collected from 150 HPV positive CC patients(cancer group), 100 HPV-positive patients with CIN1-3(CIN group)and 50 HPV-positive women without malignant disease(control group). RT-qPCR was performed to analyze the expression levels of serum miR-17-92 cluster. The diagnostic values of the differently expressed miRNAs were evaluated and compared with Thinprep cytologic test(TCT). Receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve analysis revealed that the area under the curve(AUC)of serum miR-18a, miR-92a and TCT for identifying CIN3 and CC(CIN3+)was 0.792(95%CI: 0.749-0.862; sensitivity: 87%; specificity: 65%), 0.799(95%CI: 0.744-0.847; sensitivity: 55.8%; specificity: 92%)and 0.645(95%CI: 0.582-0.704; sensitivity: 51.9%; specificity: 77%), respectively. Compared with TCT, detection of serum miR-18a and miR-92a achieved higher performance efficiency for identifying CIN3+(all P<0.01). Conclusion MiR-18a and miR-92a, the members of miR-17-92 cluster, are highly expressed in the serum of HPV-positive patients with cervical cancer, and could serve as potential biomarkers for early diagnosis of cervical neoplasia and high-grade CIN identification.

    Objective To investigate the correlation between protein and mRNA expressions of breast cancer susceptibility gene 1(BRCA1)in epithelial urethra cancer. Methods Urothelial carcinoma samples were collected from 50 patients, and paraffin sections 3-5 μm were prepared. The protein expression of BRCA1 was detected with immunohistochemical staining. After the RNS extracted from paraffin tissues underwent reverse transcript, the mRNA expression of BRCA1 was assessed with Real-time PCR. Results The low and medium mRNA expression rates of BRCA1 were 64% and 36%, respectively. The positive and negative rate of BRCA1 immunohistochemical staining was 88% and 12%, respectively. Wilcoxon verification showed that there was a significant difference in the degree of immunohistochemical staining between the low expression group and medium expression group(P<0.000 1). Spearman rank correlation analysis indicated a positive correlation between them(rs=0.652 9). Conclusion The mRNA expression of BRCA1 detected with Real-time PCR and protein expression detected with immunohistochemical staining are optional methods for the assessment of epithelial urethra cancer.

    Objective To assess the association between STAT4 rs7574865 single nucleotide polymorphism and systemic lupus erythematosus by a Meta-analysis. Methods Two authors searched PubMed, Web of science, Scopus, China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI)and Wanfang databases to identify relevant studies, independently. Odds ratio(OR)with 95% confidence interval(CI)were calculated to assess the strength of the association between rs7574865 polymorphism and SLE risk. Results A total of 27 studies were eventually included in this meta-analysis, which contained 21 902 SLE cases and 37 780 controls. Pooled analyses showed significant association between STAT4 rs7574865 polymorphism and SLE risk using allelic model(T vs G, OR=1.56, 95% CI: 1.49-1.63), homozygote model(TT vs GG, OR=2.32, 95% CI: 2.08-2.58), heterozygote model(TG vs GG, OR=1.52, 95% CI: 1.41-1.64), dominant model(TT/TG vs GG, OR=1.67, 95% CI: 1.55-1.79)and recessive model(TT vs TG/GG, OR=1.83, 95% CI: 1.65-2.02). In the subgroup analysis by region, evidences also showed significant association between rs7574865 polymorphism and SLE risk in all regions. Conclusion STAT4 rs7574865 G>T polymorphism correlate with an increased risk of SLE and the T allele may be a risk factor.
    Relevance between bone metabolism of glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis and duration of glucocorticoid treatment

    Objective To investigate the changes of bone metabolism in different durations of glucocorticoid(GC)treatment of systemtic lupus erythematosus(SLE), and to explore the therapeutic schedule of glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis(GIOP). Methods A total of 117 pre-menopausal women with SLE were involved as the observation group and 21 healthy pre-menopausal women served as the control group. According to the duration of GC therapy, the patients were divided into 7 subgroups: group Ⅰ(medication for 1~6 months), group Ⅱ(medication for 7~12 months), group Ⅲ(medication for 13~18 months), group Ⅳ(medication for 19~24 months), group Ⅴ(medication for 25~30 months), group Ⅵ(medication for 31~36 months), and group Ⅶ(medication for >36 months). The contents of amino-terminal-propeptide of type I collagen(T-PINT), amino-terminal of osteocalcin(N-MIDOs), type I collagen cross-linked C-telopeptide degradation fragments(β-CTX)and bone mineral density(BMD)of all subjects were measured. The serum levels of T-PINT and N-MIDOs in all subgroups were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05). The BMD of patients receiving more than 6-month GC therapy was significantly lower than that of healthy controls(P<0.05). Conclusion In conclusion, the change of bone metabolism is from high decomposition to low decomposition and low osteogenesis in the process of GIOP formation. In the first 18 months of GC therapy, bone metabolism is in the state of low osteogenesis and high decomposition; after 30 months, it is in the state of low osteogenesis and low decomposition.

    Objective To explore tumor-induced osteomalacia(TIO)and review relevant literature. Methods The clinical information of 3 TIO cases treated in our hospital in Feb. 2016 were retrospectively analyzed and relevant literatures were retrieved. Result All 3 cases manifested progressive ostalgia and myalgia. The laboratory readings indicated hypophosphatemia, hyperphosphaturia and elevated alkaline phosphatase. Imaging examinations showed osteomalacia. Masses on the body surface were observed in 2 cases, and a mass on the gum was detected in 1 case. All masses were removed, and the postoperative pathological results were phosphaturic mesenchymal tumor. The follow-up showed improvements of biochemical indexes and clinical symptoms. Conclusion TIO is a rare paraneoplastic syndrome. As tumors usually grow slowly and are not easy to be observed, they are likely to be misdiagnosed or underdiagnosed. However, resection of tumors shows good prognosis. Therefore, it is very important to find the tumors promptly.
    Influential factors of working years of staff in social organizations for HIV/AIDS prevention and control in Shandong Province

    Objective To investigate the status and influencing factors of working years of staff in social organizations engaged in AIDS prevention and control in Shandong Province, and to provide suggestions for strengthening management in staff stability. Methods A questionnaire was used to conduct general survey for all workers in social organization. The influencing factors were analyzed with nonparametric test and multiple linear regression. Results A total of 234 staff were enrolled in this study and the median working year was 3.36. Univariate analysis showed that age, profession,whether peer educator or not, education level were statistically significant(all P<0.10). Multiple linear regression showed that the standardized regression coefficients of whether peer educator or not, age, profession, education level were 0.193, 0.156, -0.135, -0.199, respectively, with all P<0.10. Conclusion Working years of staff in social organizations are short. Whether peer educator or not, age, profession and education level have become important factors that affect working years of staff in Shandong Province.

    Deep brain stimulation(DBS)has become the gold standard for surgery of middle and late stage Parkinsons disease(PD), which can significantly improve the motor symptoms and improve the quality of life for patients with PD. The Department of Neurosurgery of Qilu Hospital of Shandong University started DBS surgery in 2005 and have accumulated rich experiences. The authors summed up DBS operation characteristics as followed: (1) The surgeons need to have a good mastery of Leksell headstock, operation planning system, microelectrode recording system and so on. (2) The operation requires high precision. (3) The surgery has complicated steps and process so that any misoperation could affect operation outcome. (4) Except for a well-trained neurosurgery team, cooperation from the operation room, departments of neurology, anesthesiology and radiology is essential, and any department involved decides the process of operation. Based on the characteristics of DBS operation, refering to the experience from domestic and foreign scholars, the authors formulated and initially practised the standard operation procedure(SOP)as well as the checklist of deep brain stimulation surgery.
