Abstract: Objective To explore the relationship between posttraumatic growth(PTG)and psychological adjustment in cancer population. Methods Databases including PubMed, Elsevier ScienceDirect, Web of Science, Cochrane library, CNKI, CBM, VIP and WanFang were searched from inception to Oct. 2016 for literatures on the correlation between PTG and psychological adjustment in cancer survivors. And then studies retrieved were screened according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. After data were extracted, and the quality of studies included was assessed, a Meta-analysis was conducted using Stata12.0 software. Results A total of 43 studies with 7,589 patients were included. The results of Meta-analyses showed that PTG was associated with depression(r=-0.18), total quality of life(Qol, r=0.22), and positive affect(r=0.36). Conclusion High PTG is related to reduced depression, increased total QoL, and better positive affect.

Key words: Psychological adjustment, Posttraumatic growth, Cancer survivors, Meta-analysis, Pearson correlation coefficient
