Abstract: Objective To investigate the expression of CSN5 in gastric carcinoma(GC)and to determine the prognostic value of CSN5 for GC patients. Methods The genomic alternation of CSN5 was assessed using cBioportal analytical tool. CSN5 mRNA expressions in normal gastric cell line and GC cell line were determined using qRT-PCR. The differences of CSN5 mRNA expressions in gastric mucosa and GC tissues were analyzed based on Oncomine database and TCGA database. The association between CSN5 and prognosis of GC patients was determined with Kaplan-Meier plotter. The relationship between CSN5 expression and 5-year survival of GC patients was analyzed using Chen gastric statistics. Results CSN5 was mainly amplified in GC. The mRNA expression of CSN5 was significantly higher in cancer cell lines than in normal gastric cell line, and was significantly higher in GC tissues than in normal gastric mucosa. Patients with high expression of CSN5 had longer overall survival(OS)than those with low expression. Conclusion The expression of CSN5 is elevated in GC tissues, which is also positively correlated with OS of GC patients.
