Abstract: To explore the expression and role of NFκB, bcl2 and bax protein in gastric cancer and atypical hyperplasia. Method： The expressions of NFκB,bcl2 and bax were determined with Power VisionTM immunohistochemical analysis in 84 patients with gastric cancer and 54 with gastric atypical hyperplasia. Apoptosis was detected by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferasemediated dUTPbiotin nick end labeling(TUNEL). Result： The rates of NFκB（59.52%） and bcl2（52.38%）in gastric cancer were significantly higher than those in gastric atypical hyperplasia (P＜0.05）. Overexpression of NFκB in gastric cancer was related to tumor size (P＜0.05）, and there was positive correlation between the expression of NFκB and of bcl2. The apoptosis index(AI) gradually decreased to （1.29±0.50）％, （0.96±0.36）％, and （0.70±0.43）％ in low dysplasia, high dysplasia and gastric cancer, in which there were significant differences (P＜0.05）.
