Abstract: Alzheimers disease(AD)is a neurodegenerative disease majorly attacking aging population. AD is the most common type of aging-related dementia, featured by irreversible cognitive impairments and loss of social function. The 山 东 大 学 学 报 (医 学 版)55卷10期 -杜蘅,等.阿尔茨海默病病因及发病机制研究进展 \=-etiology and pathogenesis of AD have not been fully elucidated yet, which significantly deters the development of strategies for AD prevention and treatment. Here, in summary of the up-to-date research progress, we reviewed the risk factors for AD as well as the mechanisms of the pathogenesis of this neurological disorder.
