Evaluation of an e-questionnaire in the early screening of colorectal cancer

Abstract: Objective To design and establish a social network platform and e-questionnaire for the early screening of colorectal cancer, and to explore the feasibility of the screening scheme. Methods An e-questionnaire survey about colorectal cancer was conducted via Wechat platform, and subjects with high risk were recommended to take enteroscopy. The missing rate of e-questionnaire survey, positive detection rate and enteroscopy compliance were analyzed. Results A total of 1 577 e-questionnaires were collected, 82 subjects received enteroscopy, and 29 of them were tested positive. The number of subjects taking enteroscopy, positive detection rate and detection rate of early colorectal cancer related lesions was 5.20%, 1.84% and 0.44%, respectively. The high-risk subjects screened with e-questionnaire had higher enteroscopy compliance and positive detection rate than other groups. Conclusion The compliance of enteroscopy in people with high colorectal cancer risk can be improved by assistance of social network platform. E-questionnaire can be a feasible way for the early screening of colorectal cancer.
