Abstract:

Objective〓〖WTBZ〗To explore the interaction of three azoles combined with Cyclosporin A against susceptive and resistant strains of C. albicans. 〖WTHZ〗Methods〓〖WTBZ〗The response was determined by the checkerboard micro-dilution method, and after the spectrophototric reading, the fractional inhibitory concentration index(FICI)was calculated. 〖WTHZ〗Results〓〖WTBZ〗Drugs combined together acted synergistically against resistant strains, while the interactions were mostly indifferent against susceptible strains. 〖WTHZ〗Conclusion〓〖WTBZ〗Cyclosporin A largely enhances the anti-fungal activity of azoles against resistant C.albicans strains but not against susceptive ones. The OD testing method is objective and convenient.
