Clinical observation on effects of combined prescription of Mongolian medicine and Western medicine in treatment of senile hypertension

Abstract: Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Mongolian medicine combined with Western medicine in treatment of senile hypertension.Methods Elderly patients with hypertension were assigned to HEYI,kidney HEYI and BAIMAI types,within each type patients were randomly assigned to treatment group and control group.The control groups were received antihy pertensive therapy while the treatment groups were prescribed with combination therapy of Mongolian medicine and Western medicine.The changes in blood pressure were observed.Results Systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) in treatment group with kidney HEYI type were decreased and better improved compared with those in control group 10 day after prescription (P<0.05).the overall effective rate in treatment groups with all types were higher than those in control groups (P<0.05,P<0.01).Conclusion combined prescription of Mongolian medicine and Western medicine is effective for senile hypertension.
