Study on phacoemulsification combined with goniosynechialysis for lens-sourced glaucoma with cataract

Abstract: Objective To observe the effect of phacoemulsification combined with goniosynechialysis in treatment of lens-sourced glaucoma with cataract. Methods A total of 108 eyes were treated with phacoemulsification combined with goniosynechialysis. The main outcome measures were pre-operative and post-operative changes of intraocular pressure, visual acuity, range of adhersion and complications. Results The intraocular pressure of 108 eyes were reduced significantly after operation (P<0.01). After six month follow-up, the visual acuity and adhesion were improved (P<0.01). Conclusion It is effective and safe to use phacoemulsification combined with goniosynechialysis therapy for lens-sourced glaucoma with cataract.
