Abstract: Circulating tumor cell(CTC), as a non-invasive and real-time means of monitoring curative effects, has a potential clinical application. However, due to its distinctive characteristics, the detection of circulating tumer cell is still challenging. This paper will review the actualities and challenges of CTC detection, in order that it may eventually be widely applied in clinical practice.
