Correlation between porphyromonas gingivalis FimA genotype V and ginival inflammatory in the orthodontic patients

Abstract: Objective To explore the correlation between the gene expression of FimA genotype V of Porphyromonas gingivais(P.g)and gingival inflammatory in orthodontic patients. Methods Totally 61 patients with healthy gingiva were randomly selected. Their gingival crevicular fluid(GCF)was collected before and 3 months after orthodontic treatment. The content of P.g and FimA genotype V in the GCF was detected with PCR technique. Results The detection rate of P.g and FimA genotype V were 26.23% vs 73.77%, and 9.84% vs 26.23% before and after orthodontic treatment, showing significant difference(P<0.01, P<0.05). Conclusion Three months after patients wore appliance, the detection rate of P.g and FimA genotype V were positively correlated to gingival inflammation index. The detection rate of FimA genotype V rose with increased gingival index. FimA genotype V can cause gingival inflammatory in orthodontic patients.
