Abstract:

Objective To explore the effect of FeCl3 and Fe-EDTA on inhibiting psoriasis. Methods  Female Kunming mice were used to establish the epidermis hyperplasia of estrone periodical mouse models, and were randomly divided into nine groups: the negative control, positive control, low, middle, high dosage of FeCl3, low, middle, high dosage of Fe-EDTA and Oral Buxue groups. Male Kunming mice serving as the epidermis parakeratosis models were also randomly divided into the above nine groups. The mice were sacrificed by cervical dislocation after the last administration, and then the index of vaginal mitosis(female mice) and formation of the tail scale epidermis(male mice) were observed under an optical microscope. Results Every iron spiked groups as well as the methotrexate group could obviously inhibit mitosis of the vaginal epithelial cells (P<0.05) and promote formation of the granular layer in mouse tail scale (P<0.05). Statistical significance was found between the negative control and iron spiked group (P<0.05), but not among the iron spiked groups (P>0.05). Conclusion As a result of iron replenishment, mitosis of the vaginal epithelial cells was obviously inhibited, and formation of the granular layer in mouse tail scale was significantly promoted.
