Abstract: Objective To observe the effects of periocline in treatment of acute pericoronitis of wisdom tooth.Methods A total of 152 colleage students with acute pericoronitis of wisdom tooth was randomly assigned into treatment group (n=77) and control group (n=75).Initial therapy such as washing in local parts of wisdom tooth was performed,while periocline and iodine glycerin were used on infected areas in treatment and control group,respectively.The primary outcome was response rate 5 days after treatment.Results Overall response rate was 94.8%(73/77) in treatment group and 76.0%(57/75) in control group,with a significant difference(P<0.01).Conclusion Periocline is effective in treatment of acute pericoronitis of wisdom tooth.
