Abstract:

Objective   To investigate the status of hypertension preventing in secondary prevention of ischemic stroke  in Hainan province of China and identify the influencing factors. Methods   586 ischemic stroke patients who met the conditions were enrolled in the study. Antihypertensive therapy status of the patients were investigated. Univariate analysis and multivariate logistic regression analysis were performed to find the independent risk factors. Results   Patients’ awareness rate for antihypertensive therapy was 77.1%, treatment rate was 56.0% and control rate was 21.3%. Control rate of the patients who received health education was higher than those who didn’t(P＜0.001). Multinomial logistic regression analysis showed that education, health education, type of medical insurance, recommendation of taking medicines  from doctors and history of hypertension were influencing  factors(P＜0.05). Conclusion   Patients’  awareness rate, treatment rate and control rate of antihypertensive therapy are low in ischemic stroke patients in Hainan province. Clinical doctors should strengthen health education in ischemic stroke patients and recommend them to take medicines.
