Effects of Tanggankang Recipe on the serum leptin level and
diabetic patients with fatty liver

Abstract:

Objective   To observe the therapeutic effect of Tanggankang Recipe on diabetic patients with fatty liver and its effect on the serum leptin level. Methods   112 diabetic patients with fatty liver were randomly divided into the treatment group (57 patients) and the control group (55 patients). Patients in the treatment group were treated with Tanggankang Recipe. Patients in the control group were given Jiangtangjia Tablets and Inosine Tablets. All the patients were followed for 8 weeks to assess the parameters of fasting and postprandial blood glucose, HbA1c, blood lipid, insulin sensitivity, liver B-ultrasound and the serum leptin level. Results   Tanggankang Recipe significantly reduced the blood glucose and blood lipid levels, and improved the B ultrasonic images and insulin sensitivity in diabetic patients with fatty liver. It also could apparently and safely regulate the serum leptin level. Conclusion   Tanggankang Recipe is effective in the treatment of diabetic patients with fatty liver, and the mechanism is closely correlated with the regulation of blood glucose metabolism, blood lipid metabolism and leptin levels.
