Abstract:

Objective     To study changes and influencing factors of the tear film after phacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens implantation. Methods     Sixty patients (70 eyes) with age-related cataract who underwent phacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens implantation were selected, and the chief complaint of dry eye syndrome, Schirmer I test (SIT), tear breakup time(BUT)， corneal fluorescein staining（FSC）and corneal sensitivity values were analyzed before and 1 day,1 week,2 weeks and 1 month after operation. Results     Compared with the data before operation, the complaint, SIT, BUT and FSC scores had statistically significant differences 1 day,1 week and 2 weeks after operation(P<0.05), while there was no statistically significant difference 1 month after operation(P>0.05) . Corneal sensitivity returned to the preoperative level at 1 month postoperatively. Conclusion     Phacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens implantation significantly affects the tear film function in the  short term, and some patients may have dry-eye syndrome after surgery. Tear film stability has a significantly positive relationship with corneal sensitivity.
