Abstract:

Objective  To evaluate the qualities of RCG ocular nanoemulsion and to determine RCG content in nanoemulsion. Methods  RCG ocular nanoemulsion was prepared and RCG content in nanoemulsion was determined with sulfate-carbazole colorimetry method at detection wavelength of 529.0 nm.The appearance, pH values and average droplet diameter of the nanoemulsion were observed and measured. Results  The RCG ocular nanoemulsion was stable and transparent, with average droplet diameter of 51 nm, and no irritation existed. The linear range was 8.024~40.120mg/L, and the regression equation was A=0.0129c+0.008(r=0.9999).The average recovery of the method was 100.2%, and RSD was 0.92%. The RCG content in nanoemulsion was 50.03g/L. Conclusion  RCG ocular nanoemulsion is stable and accordant with the eye preparation standard of Ch.P (2005). The assay is simple, rapid and accurate, and suitable to control the quality of the ocular nanoemulsion.
