Abstract:

Objective  To investigate the association of two polymorphisms (codon 416 and codon 420) in the DBP gene and multiple sclerosis(MS) in Han people of Shandong province. Methods  The cas-control study involving 46 patients with clinically determined multiple sclerosis (MS) and 43 healthy controls. DBP gene polymorphisms at codon 416 (digested by Hae Ⅲ) and 420 (digested by styⅠ)  were determined by polymerase chain reaction with the following restriction analysis of ampliaticfions. Result  There was no significant distinctions of genotypes frequencies and allele frequencies between control group and the patients with multiple sclerosis. Conclusion  DBP gene polymorphism is not associated with risk of development of multiple sclerosis in Han people of Shandong Province.
