Expression and significance of vasculogenic mimicry in intracranial hemangiopericytoma

Abstract:

Objective  To explore whether there is vasculogenic mimicry(VM) in intracranial hemangiopericytoma and its significance. Methods  Twelve intracranial hemangiopericytoma specimens were selected to undergo HE staining and double staining of CD34 and PAS to observe the existence of VM. Results  Positive staining for PAS and negatively for CD34 were seen in nine specimens of intracranial hemangiopericytoma and erythrocytes could be observed in all of those channels. Conclusion  VM exists in intracranial hemangiopericytoma tissues.
