Psychological intervention for earthquake injured people in offsite areas

Abstract:

To investigate the effect of psychological intervention on people injured in the Wenchuan earthquake. Methods37 people from Wenchuan treated in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University received psychological intervention. Patients were subjected to interventions including hem dialysis, cognitive behavior therapy, hypnosis therapy, group guidance and pharmacotherapy in stages. The SQR scale was used to compare the results by setting a self control group before and after the psychological intervention so as to find the best intervention methods. ResultsMost patients had a stable condition and good emotion some time after psychological intervention treatment. The results of the SQR scale showed that interventions for patients from the earthquake area had a good effect. ConclusionThe present study offers empirical evidence for urgent psychological intervention, sums up experiences and considerations of posttraumatic psychological interventions in different places.
