Possible causes and treatment of postoperative bleeding after transvaginal oocyte retrieval in assisted reproductive therapy

Abstract: Since the birth of transvaginal oocyte retrieval(TVOR), the method of oocyte retrieval by laparoscopy has withdrawn from the historical stage. Although TVOR is currently the easiest and safest way to obtain ova, some related complications cannot be completely avoided. Severe intra-abdominal hemorrhage caused by TVOR may even endanger the patients life. Therefore, this article will detail the possible causes and treatment of postoperative bleeding after transvaginal oocyte retrieval in assisted reproductive therapy.
