Abstract: Objective To investigate the safety and efficacy of flexible and rigid ureteroscopy combined with holmium laser in the treatment of foreign body in the upper urinary tract. Methods The clinical data of 6 patients(4 male and 2 female)with iatrogenic foreign bodies in the upper urinary tract treated during Feb. 2014 and June 2016 were retrospectively analyzed. All of the foreign bodies were caused by indwelling of double J stent, one of which was residual stones caused by residue of double J stent. All cases underwent flexible and rigid ureteroscopy combined with holmium laser. Results All foreign bodies were removed successfully. No calculi in the kidney calices or abnormalities were observed. No complications occurred. Conclusion Flexible and rigid ureteroscopy combined with holmium laser is safe, effective and minimal invasive in the treatment of foreign body in the upper urinary tract.
