Abstract: To conclude the hallux pulp flap combined with plantar metatarsal flap in repairing the larger pulp defect of fingers. Methods: To examine the 12 cases of pulp defect of fingers repairing with free hallux pulp flaps combined with plantar matatarsal flaps since 2000; these flaps area: 6~8 cm at length and 1.5~3.0 cm at width. The plantar donor area could be surtured directly and the wound of toe pulp donor could be repaired with fullthickness skin graft of the medial plantar skin. Result: All the transplanted pulp flaps were survived and after fl.up of 2 m~2 yr, the repaired pulps were wellstacked ,with the same color and clear dermatoglyph as the other nomal pulps. The repaired fingers had no phenomenone of dysfunction but of slight scar, whose twopointdiscrimination were up to 5~7 mm. Conclusion: Hallux pulp flap combined with plantar mematarsal pulp is one fine modus operandi of repairing the larger digital pulp defect because of its larger cutoff area and well texture.
