Abstract: To investigate the expression of peripheral blood lymphocyte ubiquitin mRNA in chronic HBV active infection and to evaluate its clinical significance. MethodsNinetysix patients were enrolled in the study and were divided into 3 groups: the chronic hepatitis B group(40 patients), the active cirrhosis group(30 patients) and the severe hepatitis group(26 patients). In addition, 26 healthy persons served as the control group. Ubiquitin mRNA of the peripheral blood lymphocytes and intrareference βactin were determined by realtime PCR. Differences among groups were analyzed by oneway ANOVA. ResultsExpression level of peripheral blood lymphocyte ubiquitin mRNA in all experimental groups was lower than in the healthy control group(P=0.00), and in the severe hepatitis group it was the lowest and in the active cirrhosis group it was the second. ConclusionExpression of the peripheral blood lymphocyte ubiquitin mRNA is abnormal in all patients, and it may be involved in the occurrence and development of chronic HBV active infection. The lower the expression, the severer the disease.
