Abstract:

To explore the role of cannabinoid receptor 1 (CB1) in THCinduced inhibition of LTD in the CA1 area in vitro. MethodsField excitatory postsynaptic potentials (fEPSP) were recorded in the stratum radiatum of the CA1 area in vitro. Results①Low frequency stimulation (1?Hz 15?min) inducedLTD in the CA1 area which was significantly attenuated by Δ9THC; ②THCinduced inhibition of LTD was reversed by SR141716 (a CB1 selective inhibitor); ③ THCinduced inhibition of LTD was not robustly altered in CB1 knockout mice when compared with wildtype littermate mice.  ConclusionCB1 mediates THCinduced inhibition of LTD in the CA1 area in vitro.
