Retrospective study of 868 port-wine stains patients treated with flashlamp-pumped pulsed dye laser(595nm)

Abstract:

Objective   To evaluate the efficacy of 595 nm flashlamp-pumped pulsed dye laser in treatment of port-wine stains(PWS). Methods   A retrospective study was performed in 868 patients with PWS treated with 595nm flashlamp-pumped pulsed dye laser. The efficacy and side-effects were evaluated. Results   The total effective rate was 71.54%. The efficacy was correlated with patients′ age, sites of lesions, area of lesions and the times of treatment (P<0.05). Blister, hyperpigmentation, and scar were found in 0.9%, 0.4% and 0.7% of these patients, respectively. Conclusion    595nm flashlamp-pumped pulsed dye laser is effective and safe for the treatment of PWS．
