Expression of human sel-1-like gene and its significance in stomach neoplasms

Abstract:

Objective   To investigate expression of SEL1L in stomach neoplasms and its relationship to clinical pathological factors. Methods   Tissue ISH and immuno- histochemical method were used to detect expressions of SEL1L in 100 cases of stomach neoplasms, 30 cases of atypical hyperplasia, and 20 cases of normal gastric mucosa. Results   The positive expression rates of SEL1L protein were 83.0% in stomach neoplasms and 85.0% in the atypical hyperplasia, which were higher compared to that in normal gastric mucosa(16.7%)(P<0.01). Positive expression rates of SEL1L mRNA were 90.0% in stomach neoplasms and 95.0% in the atypical hyperplasia, which were higher compared to that in normal gastric mucosa(10.0%)(P<0.01). Conclusion   Over-expression of SEL1L is likely an early event during the pathogenesis of stomach neoplasms. It is much significant to evaluate the occurrence and development of stomach neoplasms through investigating expression of SEL1L in stomach neoplasms.
