Abstract:

Objective     To study the cell biocompatibility of a new type polyporous RGD-PLGA/HA scaffold in vitro. Methods     Bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) obtained from rabbits were cultured, induced and proliferated in vitro. The cells were incubated with RGD-PLGA/HA in experimental group A and PLGA/HA  in group B.  The capacity of adhesion and proliferation of BMSCs were qualitatively and quantitatively examined, and the osteogenesis activity of cell composite was tested. Differences between the 2 groups were analyzed. Results     BMSCs of rabbits were capable of growth in both groups. After the induction in vitro, a calcium nodule formed on the surface of the scaffold material, and the capacity of adhesion and proliferation were stronger in group A than in control group  B(P<0.05). Conclusion     Polyporous RGD-PLGA/HA as a scaffold for bone tissue engineering shows good biocompatibility with BMSCs.
