Coping style and the related factors in  patients with diabetes and diabetic retinopathy

Abstract:

Objective   To explore the coping style of  patients with diabetes and diabetic retinopathy and analyze the related factors.  Methods   The Trait Coping Style Questionnaire (TCSQ) and self-designed questionnaires was used to survey 51 normal subjects and 331patients with diabetes and diabetic retinopathy. Generalized linear regression models were applied to determine the main factors influencing the TCSQ. Results   The scores of normal controls were better than  patients with diabetes and diabetic retinopathy(P<0.01). The influencing factors of TCSQ on  patients included age(P<0.05), degree of education(P<0.05), family per capita monthly income(P<0.05) and state of an illness(P<0.01). Conclusion   To different characteristics of patients with diabetes and diabetic retinopathy,guiding accordingly can improve their quality of life.
