Abstract: To explore IL11 and IL11 receptor in the blood of mice with chronic idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura(CITP) and to assess whether the absence of IL11 or the IL11 receptor will provide a new theory in the treatment of CITP. Methods60 BALB/C mice which were randomly divided into two groups (20 mice in the control group and 40 in the CITP group). The model of CITP was induced using intraperitoneal APS injection. Levels of IL11 and IL11 receptors were determined using ELISA and flowcytometry at the 8th day. ResultsThe levels of IL11 and the IL11 receptor in the blood of group CITP were higher thatthose of group control (P<0.05). In 31 mice of the CITP group, both the level of IL11 and of the IL11 receptor in the blood were increased, while in the remaining 9 mice of the CITP group, the level of IL11 in the blood was increased but the level of the IL11 receptor was decreased. ConclusionIL11 may have a certain action in the mechanism of ITP.

Key words: Interleukin 11, IL11 receptor, Chronic idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura
