Abstract:

Objective〓〖WTBZ〗To explore the role of T lymphoma invasion and metastasis factor 1(Tiam1) expression in determining invasion and metastasis, especially the peripheral blood micro-metastasis in colorectal carcinoma. 〖WTHZ〗Methods〓〖WTBZ〗Real-time fluorescence quantitative-polymerase chain reaction (FQ-RT-PCR) was used to determine the expressions of CK20 mRNA and Tiam1mRNA in 51 cases of colorectal carcinoma, and software SPSS 11.5 was used to analyze the relationships between colorectal carcinoma clinical and pathological features and Tiam1 expression. 〖WTHZ〗Results〓〖WTBZ〗CK20 mRNA expression was found in 18 cases(35.29%, 18/51), and Tiam1 mRNA was found in all, however it was (72.11±2.38)×10-4 in cancerous tissues with micro-metastasis and was(15.78±5.01)×10-4 in cancerous tissues without micro-metastasis, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Tiam1 expression had no relations to age, gender, primary location, tumor size and peripheral blood carcino-embryonic antigen level , but had relations to tumor differentiation and invasion, lymphocyte metastasis, tumor TNM stage and peripheral blood micro-metastasis (P<0.05). 〖WTHZ〗Conclusion〓〖WTBZ〗Tiam1mRNA determination is helpful in judging invasion and metastasis of colorectal carcinoma, especially in clarifying peripheral blood micro-metastasis.
