Abstract: Objective: To explore the role of negative mood, psychological health, personality in nondialysis patients with chronic kidney disease. Methods: Fiftyeight nondialysis patients with chronic kidney disease (based on K/DOQI) and thirtyone healthy persons were enrolled in this study. The general data, renal function, SAS, SDS, SCL90, copying styles and EPQRSC questionnaire were subjected to all. Result: Scores of the mood of depression and anxiety, negative copying of the experimental group were significantly higher than those of the control group(P<0.01). The neuroticism of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.01). Scores of omatization, sensitivity of interpersonal relation, depression, anxiety, hostility, fear, monomania, psychiatric and total scores, total average scores, positive numbers, positive average numbers of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group(P<0.01). Correlation analysis showed that age was positively correlated with the mood of depression and negative copying(P<0.05), educational level was negatively correlated with the mood of depression and anxiety, and serum albumin was negatively correlated with negative copying(P<0.05). Conclusion: The mood of depression and anxiety is an obvious symptom in nondialysis patients with chronic kidney disease. Psychological health of patients is obviously decreased than that of the controls. Age and educational level are associated with the mood of depression and anxiety, while renal function is not associated with the mood of depression and anxiety and the psychological health.
