I implantation combined with Gemcitabine in the treatment of advanced pancreatic cancer

Abstract: Objective： To study the role of 125〖KG*4/5]I implantation plus gemcitabine in treatment of advanced pancreatic cancer(APC). Methods： Fortythree untreated patients with APC were randomly divided into two groups: 125Results： Overall response rate(CR+PR)in Group A and in Group B was 61.1% and 32.0% respectively(P＜0.05). Clinical benefit response was experienced by 72.2% of Group A compared with 40.0% of Group B(P＜0.05). The survival rates of 3, 6, 12 and 18 months were100％,　94.4%,　72.2% and 61.1% for Group A and 100％,　76.0%, 32.0% and 12.0% for Group B (P＜0.05). Conclusion： 125I plus GEM is effective in easing pain, improving the healthrelated quality of life,and prolonging the life of patients.
