Abstract:

Objective   To investigate the association between the polymorphisms of CD14 gene (rs2569190 and rs2563298) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA) susceptibility in Shandong Han population. Methods   256 cases with RA and 331 healthy controls were genotyped using high resolution melting (HRM) method. The genotype and allele frequencies were calculated, and the association between genotype and phenotype of RA were calculated and analyzed. ESR, CRP, CCP and GPI were detected. Results   Significant difference was found in rs2569190 allele frequencies between RA and controls(P=0.017),  and there was no difference in genotype distribution between two groups(P=0.058). There was no difference in rs2563298 genotype distribution and allele frequencies between two groups (P=0.444, 0.599). After Bonferroni multiple test correction, significant difference remained in rs2569190 allele frequencies between RA and controls (adjusted P=0.034).There were no differences of age, gender, disease duration, DAS28 level and other laboratory parameters among different genotypes of two SNPs. Conclusion   The study showed that rs2569190 of CD14 gene polymorphism may play an important role in the susceptibility to RA in Shandong Han population.
