Diagnosis, management, prevention and control for suspected cases of coronavirus disease 2019, Qilu Hospital criteria

Abstract: To establish a standardised method of screening, diagnosis and management of suspected cases with coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)so as to enhance management of COVID-19 suspected cases, the recent literatures and relevant documents about COVID-19 made by the national and provincial health committees were reviewed. By incorporating the most recent knowledge on COVID-19 and our local practices, the protocol that includes diagnostic criteria, and prevention and control measures for this infectious disease was devised. The protocol has been drafted and extensively reviewed by Consensus Group of Diagnosis and Treatment for Coronavirus Disease 2019, Qilu Hospital of Shandong University. The diagnostic and managements criteria of COVID-19 were proposed with clinical classifications. The protocol reviewed the procedure of 2019 novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV)nucleic acids test and focused on the clinical management of any suspected fever patients. It also highlights the procedure for dealing with close contacts of infected individuals and the discharge criteria of suspected cases. This consensus will contribute to the on-going provincial and national effort on prevention and control of COVID-19.
