Abstract: To compare three kinds of operations on moderate congenitial microtia. Methods: According to the feature of ear defection, 1?135 cases of moderate congenitial microtia were treated by different methods, including cartilage tube plasty steel wire elevation in 198 cases, free composite ear transplantation from the other ear in 72 cases and partial ear reconstruction with soft tissue skin expander together with autogenous rib cartilage framework in 865 cases. Evaluation standards, advantages and disadvantages of 3 methods were determined from the long time followup results in 570 out of 1?135 cases. Results: Long time followup showed that in 570 cases, the cured ears were coincidence with the normal side on location, form and dimension without relapse and serious complications and no obvious difference was found out of the results of the 3 methods. Conclusion: One of the 3 methods can be chosen to satisfactorily correct moderate congenitial microtia according to the feature of ear defection.
