Abstract:

Objective   To explore the correlations between gene polymorphisms of xeroderma pigmentosum gene D (XPD) Lys751Gln and different clinical phenotypes and chemotherapeutic effects of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL). Methods   Peripheral blood samples of 87 NHL patients from Guangxi of China were collected. The gene polymorphism of XPD Lys751Gln was detected, and the correlations between different gene types, NHL clinical phenotypes and chemotherapeutic effects were analyzed. Results    ① Among 87 NHL patients, T/T and T/G genotypes of XPD Lys751Gln (T>G) polymorphism sites were found in 71 cases (81.6%) and 16 cases (18.4%) respectively, but G/G genotype was not found. ② TT and TG genotype frequencies of XPD Lys751Gln showed no significant differences in the distributions of different NHL cell source groups, different malignant degree groups, with/without B symptom groups and different international prognostic index (IPI) groups (P>0.05). ③ The distributions of TT and TG genotype frequencies between NHL patients with/without chemotherapeutic effects had no significant differences (P>0.05). Conclusion   Among NHL patients from Guangxi of China, there are no conspicuous associations between the XPD Lys751Gln polymorphism and different clinical phenotypes (cell source, malignant degree of tumors, with/without B symptom and dangerous degrees) and response to chemotherapy.
