Abstract:

To study the concentration of serum glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP)in patients with hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage after minimally invasive surgery (MIS). MethodsBlood samples were obtained on day 1 (before the operation in the MIS  group), 3, 7, and 14 after the onset in 74 patients with MIS and 80 patients with non minimally invasive surgery (NMIS), and 60 normal controls(the NC group). Serum GFAP was detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA). ResultsThe content of serum GFAP in the NMIS group significantly increased on day1, rose to a climax on day7, and then decreased, but was still significantly higher than that in the control group. Compared with the NMIS group, the level of serum GFAP in the MIS group significantly decreased on day 7 and 14. GFAP  had correlations with nerve function deficiency score (NDS). ConclusionsMiniinvasive hematoma aspiration can decrease the serum level of  GFAP in patients with cerebral hemorrhage. Serum GFAP is a potential marker for prognosis and outcome in patients with nonminimally invasive surgery.
