Expression of regulated upon activation normal T cells and secreted 
factor(RANTES) and its receptor (CCR3) in oral lichen planus

Abstract:

To detect expressions of RANTES, CCR3 and RANTES mRNA in the tissues of oral lichen planus (OLP) and normal oral mucosa and to explore the role of RANTES and CCR3 in the process of OLP. MethodsSpecimens were collected from 30 patients with OLP and 10 patients with normal oral mucosa. Expressions of RANTES and CCR3 were determined by the streptavidinperoxidase(SP)technique. Expression of RANTES at the level of mRNA was observed by ISH. ResultsExpressions of RANTES and CCR3 in OLP were significantly higher than those in normal oral mucosa. ConclusionCompared with tissues of normal oral mucosa, different expressions and distribution of RANTES and CCR3 in OLP suggest that RANTES and CCR3 probably play important roles in the process of OLP.
