Clinical characteristics of aging and noaging patients with type 2 diabetes

Abstract:

To compare clinical characteristics of aging and nonaging patients with type 2 diabetes． MethodsClinical information of 285 aging and 282 noaging patients with type 2 diabetes were collected, and disease duration, weight index, blood pressure, fast glucose, serum lipid, glycosylated hemoglobin A1c(GHbA1c) and complications were compared． ResultsThere were significant differences between the two groups in disease  duration, diastolic pressure, and cholesterol (P＜0.05). StandardAchieving rates of clinical index including blood pressure, fast glucose, serum lipid, and GHbA1c in both groups were low, especially in the nonaging group. Incidence of cardiocerebravascular complications, retinopathy and infectious diseases of the aging group were higher than those of the nonaging group (P＜0.05). ConclusionStandardAchieving rates of clinical indexes of the aging and nonaging patients with type 2 diabetes are low, far from the controlling target of treatment guideline, and complications appear ahead of schedule. Prevention and treatment of nonaging diabetes should be enhanced. Cardiocerebrarascular complications, retinopathy and infectious diseases are the focus of treatment for aging diabetes.
