Expression of HLA-G in cervical cancer and its clinical significance

Abstract:

Objective  To detect expression of human leukocyte antigen protein G(HLA-G)in cervical cancer and explore its significance in the development of cervical cancer. Methods  The SP immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expression of HLA-G in 54 cervical cancer tissues and 16 normal cervix tissues and its relationship with clinical pathological characteristics of cervical cancer was analyzed. Results  The positive expression rate of HLA-G was 66.7%(36/54) in cervical cancer tissues, while no positive expression(0/16)was found in normal cervix tissues. The positive expression rate of HLA-G was closely related with clinical stage and differentiation degree(P<0.05), but was not related with age, histological classification, and lymph node metastasis(P>0.05). Conclusion  Expression of HLA-G in cervical tumors is significantly higher than that in normal cervix tissues, and HLA-G plays an important role in the development of cervical cancer.
