Analysis of disqualification of hand hygiene of ICU medical staff

Abstract: Objective To analysis the reasons of disqualification in hand hygiene of ICU medical staff and to provide solutions.Methods Hand hygiene of ICU medical staff was investigated and assessed from February 2013 to July 2013 (before intervention) and from August 2013 to December 2013(after intervention),respectively.The execution rate of interventions on hand hygiene and colony-forming units were compared before and after intervention.Results The initial execution rate was 46.70% and increased to 84.30% after intervention,and the counts for colony-forming units was reduced compared with that before intervention (P<0.01).Conclusion Strengthening in hand hygiene knowledge training and supervision can improve the quality of hand hygiene in ICU medical staff.
