Application of integrated medical care for perioperative patients with extracrania-intracranial tumors of anterior skull bases

Abstract: Objective To observe the Integrated Medical care for perioperative patients with extracrania-intracranial tumors of anterior skull bases. Methods Forty six patients were enrolled and set as observation group, with integrated medical care. Another 35 patients were set as control group, with conventional nursing care. Complications, average length of stay and nursing satisfaction were compared between two groups. Results Incidence of complication was 34.3% in control group and 10.9% in observation group. There were significant differences in legth of stay (27.1±8.9 vs 20.6±8.6, P<0.01) and nursing satisfaction score (91.3±2.9 vs 95.6±2.9, P<0.01) between control and observation group. Conclusion Integrated medical care has potential to reduce the risk of complications in patients with extracrania-intracranial tumors of anterior skull bases.
