Abstract: To explore the expressions of Programmed Cell Dead Factor4 and Ki67 in the skin infiltrates of patients with granuloma fungoides(MF) in different stages. MethodsParaffin sections were divided into three groups: the patch/plaque stage group(n=21), the tumor stage group(n=6), and the control group(n=5). The immunohistochemical Envision method was used to determine expressions of PDCD4 and Ki67 per section. Results①There was no significant difference in the number of PDCD4+ cells in the epidermis between the patch/plaque stage and control groups (P>0.05), while the number of PDCD4+ cells in the dermis was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05). The number of PDCD4+ cells in both the epidermis and dermis of the tumor stage group was significantly lower than in the patch/plaque stage and control groups (P<0.05). ② There was no significant difference in the number of Ki67+ cells in the epidermis in the three groups(P>0.05). The number of Ki67+ cells in dermis of both the patch/plaque stage and the tumor stage groups were significantly higher than the control group (P<0.05), while the number of Ki67+ cells of the tumor stage group was significantly higher than that of the patch/plaque stage group (P<0.05). ③There was no correlation between expression of PDCD4 and that of Ki67 in the epidermis or dermis (P>0.05). ConclusionsDecreased PDCD4 expression in both the epidermis and dermis and increased Ki67 expression in the dermis from patch/plaque stage to tumor stage MF suggest that the incidence and development of MF may be related to the decrease or deficiency of PDCD4 expression.
