Abstract: DT3 which is widely used in the aerospace field as a closedcorrectposecontrol propellant, has become the focus of concern because of its safety, especially in respect to its toxicology. To explore DT3 on the toxicology of lungs and its mechanism. MethodsSPF Wistar male rats were given the drug by bronchial injection 14 consecutive days. ResultsThe levels of LDH, TAOC and TP in the bronchalveolar lavage were determined through ELISA, the level of LDH was significantly increased and TAOC significantly decreased (P<0.05) at a high dose, while no statistical significance of the TP concentration was found in all groups. Also, tail DNA intensity and tail moment were increased in a dosedependent manner in lung tissue cells as determined by fluoroscope through single cell gel electrophoresis. ConclusionDT3 might result in membrane damage by producing lung inflammation. Oxidant damage is not a contributing factor in toxicity at a low dose. The possibility that DT3 induces DNA damage could not be ruled out.
