Abstract: To compare the effect of Tangshen capsule's normal preparations with new preparations. Methods: Diabetic rat models induced by streptozotocin administered through intragastricinfusion with normal preparations of Tangshen capsule and different dosages of Tangshen capsule made with new technics respectively, were observed for 8 weeks.The foreandaft fasting blood glucose (FBG), content of sorbitol in red cells (RBCS), conduct velocity of the motor nerve (MNCV) and tail flick latency (TFL) were detected. Results: Compared with the normal preparation, the new technical preparations of the Tangshen capsule could reduce the FBG, RBCS, speed up the MNCV and make the TFL longer（P＜0.05）. Half dosage of the new technical prepartions and full dosage of normal prepartions had the same effect. Conclusion: Tangshen capsule prepared with new technical method markedly improves the effect and reduces dosage of drugs.
