Effect of Zinc and ZincEDTA in inhibiting psoriasis

Abstract: To study the effect of Zinc and ZincEDTA in inhibiting psoriasis. Methods: Kunming mice of mitotic division model of vaginal epitheliums were randomly divided into eight groups: negative control, positive control, low, middle and high dosage of ZnCl2, and low, middle and high dosage of ZnEDTA, and then they were mornitored following ten days consecutive intragastrically administration of saline, Methotrexate, ZnCl2 and ZnEDTA. And one hour after last administration, mice were administered colchicines by intraperitoneal injection and sacrificed by taking the cervical vertebrae off. The vaginal mitotic division was observed under light microscope. Results: ZnCl2 or ZnEDTA of different dosages could obviously inhibit the mitosis of vaginal epithelial cells (P＜0.05). No statistically significant was found between ZnCl2 or ZnEDTA and positive control group. Conclusion: ZnCl2 or ZnEDTA may inhibit the proliferation of epidermic cells in psoriasis animal model.
