Expression of WWOX in tissues of breast cancer and its association with ER and menopausal status

Abstract: Objective： To investigate the expression of E-cadherin and VEGF in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) and the correlation of them with the invasion, metastasis and prognosis of ESCC. Methods： Expressions of E-cadherin and VEGF in 40 specimens of ESCC were determined by immunohistochemistry. Results： The positive rate of E-cadherin in ESCC was 27.5%, lower than that in the control group (P＜0.01). The low expression of Ecadherin correlated with the invasive degree and lymph node metastasis. The positive rate of VEGF in ESCC was 78.0%, higher than that in the control group. The high expression of VEGF correlated with the invasive degree and lymph node metastasis. The expression of E-cadherin was negatively correlated with the expression of VEGF（rs＝-0.4460，P＜0.01）. Conclusions： Expressions of Ecadherin and VEGF correlate with the biological behavior of ESCC, and so it is valuable in evaluating the intensity of metastasis and prognosis of the lymph node.
