Abstract: Objective To study the effect of assisted hatching on in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET) in women with advanced age. MethodA retrospective analysis of 96 IVF-ET cycles was used to compare embryo transfer after laser-AH (n=52) and traditional CT-ET(n=44). Results18.10% (n=19) of the 105 embryos exposed to AH were implanted, and 8.93% (n=10) of the 112 embryos not exposed to AH were implanted (P＜0.05, (2 test). There were no differences in the rate of clinical pregnancy between the two groups (28.85% VS 20.45%, P＞0.05). When basal FSH≥10（IU/L） or embryos for transfer with zona thickness ≥18μm, laser-assisted hatching increased the implantation rate (P＜0.05, (2 test). Conclusion Assisted hatching increases the implantation rate of IVF-ET in women with advanced age, especially in those with the basal FSH≥10（IU/L）or embryos for transfer with zona thickness ≥18μm.
