Abstract: Objective: To evaluate the health-related quality of life in patients with obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome and the influencing factors. Methods: The Calgary questionnaire for health-related quality of life of patients with sleep apnea and the Epworth sleepiness scale(ESS) were used to evaluate the quality of life and excessive daytime sleepiness(EDS) in OSAHS patients and simple snoring patients. The Pearson correlation and stepwise multiple regression analysis were used to analyze the correlation between the SAQLI and body mass index (BMI), neck collar, abdomen circumference, sleep architecture, respiratory disturbances and EDS. Results: There was a difference in each aspect between OSAHS patients and simple snoring patients. The SAQLI was significantly correlated with EDS. Conclusions: The health-related quality of life in patients with OSAHS is reduced. EDS is an important influencing factor for the health-related quality of life in patients with OSAHS.

Key words: Sleep apnea, obstructive, Health-related quality of life, Excessive daytime sleepiness
